Macc wheelers 25 (Photography by Tom Hill) |
The 25 was ridden using a bike I have affectionately named Frankenstein. Made from various bits and bobs, it may weigh the earth but it feels comfortable, and I've heard that isn't how a TT bike is meant to feel! It feels different wearing the 'correct' kit and equipment, although hitting those walls of wind is still blooming hard! With confidence improved I finished exhausted. I'd warmed up by riding to the start but riding back was horrible - although made bearable by Fred's fleece and a bit of pre-race help from Karen (Thanks both!). I don't normally complain about the wind but I do make note of it, that TT was windy though! I clocked a time of 1.05.40 which - minus the Garmin time of 50 seconds to stop and remove an overshoe - I'm chuffed with.
First lady in both my first two TTs. Here's to reducing the time from A to B. Slowly but surely I'll get there. Next one is another M&DTTA 25 - bring it on!
